MediBRIDGE - The Product

MediBRIDGE provides a safe; secure electronic transport service for all types of Health Care Information.

Health Information is fully encrypted before being transmitted from one Health Institution to another or between Health Care Professionals (HCP). Once the information has arrived on the recipient's workstation the information is decrypted and is available for that HCP to view or integrate with his or her own Information System.

We also provide a Results Reporting application that the recipient may use to print or view the transmitted results. The application provides the HCP with the ability to review, store, print and search for the Laboratory Results for their Patients.

MediBRIDGE is operational since mid September 1999, in Ireland, transmitting Laboratory Results from the Blackrock Clinic to their Laboratory Services Clients.

The roll out of the MediBRIDGE service to other Health Care Institutions is ongoing. Since 2000/2001 we are transmitting Laboratory results from St. James's Central Pathology, The Virus Reference Laboratory, Blackrock Clinic and Claymon Laboratories to many of their requesting clients. We are also transmitting Laboratory Requests from Portiuncula Hospital to the Virus Reference Laboratory.

Some of our larger communicators include the Coombe Womens Hospital, Bon Secours Glasnevin, National Maternity Hospital, and Tallaght Hospital. The service is constantly growing with new sites being added on a monthly basis, new sites being implemented include the Irish Blood Transfusion Services Board, St. John of God Hospitals, Naas General Hospital.

MediBRIDGE is also used as the communications infrastructure for the Coronary Heart Attack Ireland Register (CHAIR) Pilot, implemented in 8 sites in Cork & Kerry.

MediBRIDGE Belgium is currently serving over 12000 clients (Health Care Professionals and Institutions).

The Security Technology behind MediBRIDGE provided by RPK.

How Secure is the RPK Encryptonite Engine?

The RPK Encryptonite Engine leverages the same mathematics behind Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange to produce a fast, secure, flexible system. The security of RPK is directly related to the difficulty of solving the discrete log problem over large finite fields. Due to the nature of the mathematics involved, the RPK Encryptonite Engine cannot effectively be cracked using distributed processing, as with recently broken encryption systems.

The security level of the RPK Encryptonite Engine is determined by key size, with typical secure keys in the 600-bit range and above.

RPK has been analysed by world-class cryptographers who have issued reports on the security and integrity of the technology. Patented in New Zealand (where it was developed) and the US. Patents pending in Japan, Australia and members of the European Community.
